RGGLD MIDDLE SCHOOL LINKS

Currently the RGGLD has only one link that seemed applicable to the gifted/LD population. It is from the Curry School of Education. The Curry School, located at the University of Virginia, is part of the consortium of schools that make up the National Resource Center on the Gifted and Talented (Javits Center). UVA's particular area of study is in middle school curricula. While the Javits Center focuses primarily on the gifted, some of the studies are applicable to gifted/LD also.

In this paper, Dr. Tomlinson discusses the need to differentiate instruction in the classroom as well as giving specific strategies and techniques for implementing differentiated instruction. She also discusses how this approach fits with the middle school philosophy.
